Plan the work
Inspect the base
- The existing surface should be sound and sufficiently flat for the selected tile and installation system.
- Loose material, cracks, movement, and water damage need a plan.
Draw the layout
- Choose a reference line and review where full tiles, cuts, thresholds, and trim will land before setting begins.
Coordinate wet areas
- Showers and other wet zones need the specified waterproofing assembly, drain details, and product-compatible transitions; tile and grout alone are not the waterproofing system.
